About Kempsey

Dairying was the major industry in the area until the 1960s, with a Nestlé Milo factory at nearby Smithtown, and several cheese and butter factories. Today, Kempsey is the commercial heart of the Macleay River valley and home to that famous Australian icon, the Akubra hat. Kempsey is a progressive town with a strong sense of community. Kempsey is located 428 km north of Sydney on the Pacific Highway. It has a population of 11,000 and the wider Macleay Valley 28,000. Lifestyle, great natural beauty and a truly relaxed lifestyle – that sums up the Macleay Valley in a nutshell and makes it easy to understand why many visitors, after holidaying in the area, choose to move here permanently.

We are proud to be part of the Kempsey and Macleay Valley community and provide a high quality finance and mortgage broking service to the area.

Trudy Squires
Trudy Squires
Lending Specialist

Trudy has had a diverse career and had spent 17 years working with a Credit Union, mostly in lending roles. In 2023 she lost a close friend and colleague and this made her reflect on the things that were important to her.
Realising that her work passions were going above and beyond to help her clients to achieve their personal and financial goals, she wanted to find a way to broaden what she could offer. Her enthusiasm, can do attitude, and skills meant that she was always a natural fit for the broking world and our team.
In early 2023 Trudy made the leap to resign from her full time role and join the broking world. She has completed her Cert IV and is excited to join the team.
Outside of work you will find Trudy spending quality time with friends and family and in her downtime she enjoys everything about her veggie garden, using her home grown produce in savoury cooking and her fur baby ‘Gilly’. Trudy can break her working life into a book of 4 chapters, she has written 3 and now begins the fourth.
