You do, you are building your business for you, and your family’s future.

You are an independent business working under our credit license.

Of course, every business does. Our rules are simple and there to protect you and every other person in the group.

When you join, these are no longer ‘our’ rules, they are ‘yours’ as well.

David and Debbie Traynor own the brand and the back-office business.

Most of our brokers are members of the Finance Brokers Association of Australasia (FBAA). David is in fact a member of the FBAA Board of Directors.

We are corporate members of the Commercial Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia (CAFBA)

Some of our brokers are also members of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). David is a Fellow. 

Mentoring, the Regional Finance Way

The right mentor for you

Our approach to mentoring is simple, it’s all about you. We understand your strengths & weaknesses, how you learn, and which part of the lending market that you want to focus on first.

We then find the right mentor within the group to support, train and guide you.

And behind them is assistance and support from everyone in the business. From MD (when you join you will have David’s phone number to call when you need), from all the other brokers in the family happy to help, and our entire broker support team.

With over 385 years of experience across the family, that’s a lot you can call on.

After all we were all beginners once.

It’s at our cost.

We do not charge you a fixed monthly fee for mentoring. If we did what is the incentive to help you? Nil, nada, zip.

What we do is assist you in getting loans written and settled, then we share the commission with you; this way we are totally aligned; if you don’t succeed, we don’t either. The percentage splits are negotiated upfront, and the mentoring is free. It’s all in the package.
What you can expect. We’re not promising our undivided attention – anybody that promises that is not being genuine because we all have busy times, time away from the office, all that.

How can you be sure?

It’s easy, during our chats about joining the team we are happy to provide the names and numbers of our other new to industry brokers. Feel free to call them and ask about their experience. We are an open book.

The right fit

If we are not confident that we are the right group to provide the support you need we’ll let you know why and will recommend other brokerages to talk to.

We want you to succeed, preferably as part of our family, but if we’re not right for you; someone else will be.

No additional cost if you join Regional Finance.

We have a small monthly fee (that we waive for new brokers for the first 6 months while you get established), then there is a commission split agreement – this means that while you are getting established, or having a quiet period and you are earning less, we make less as well. So, it is in our best interest to see you succeeding.

• Group Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Cyber insurance
• Group External Dispute Resolution service – Australian Financial Complaints Authority
• Compliance and audit service – documentation, support and auditing
• Regular industry update webinars
• Annual team conference
• Cover for your business when you are on holidays or if you are out of action due to illness
• A laptop at our expense – set-up and ready to go when you join. Data services – internet protection, PC health monitoring, password, annual full ITSM audits, cloud based storage and backup
• Mobile phone paid for by us for first 2 years if required
• Online services – bank statement retrieval, Annature, CoreLogic, RP Data, credit reporting

• Rural residential loans – most lenders cap out between 5 acres and 100 acres; we have lenders that can and do go larger.
• Rural SMSF – again, most lenders cap out at 100 acres or do not do rural SMSF at all. We have access to lenders that will do true broad acre rural properties within SMSFs.
• Cradle to grave – our business mantra is to capture a young person doing their first car loan, while talking to their grandparents about a senior’s loan – and everything in between – personal loans, car loans, home loans, equipment finance, business, rural, cash flow lending, seniors, trade & international, you name it

We are part of Connective, so we have access to over 70 lenders on their panel.

On top of this we have over 50 direct lender relationships.

Between the two, we have well over 120 lenders available to you.

No, you are not an employee, and you are running your own business. We do not micro-manage anybody.

You are not an employee, and you are running your own business.

We help you understand how much business you need to write to achieve the income that you want. Otherwise, it’s up to you how hard you want to work and earn.

We do have a small annual target in place that ensures that there is sufficient income generated to cover our costs. But if you can’t achieve that you should not be in business.

We don’t have sales meetings.

We have regular lender presentations, so you are familiar with their products and policies.

No, we won’t waste your time with these types of meetings.

Our meetings have a reason, and very few are mandatory.

Our reporting is simple, when you settle a loan put it into our commission payment system so you get paid (we may occasionally ask for things, but it’s rare, and for a reason).

We have faith in our business, so we don’t get you to sign a locked in agreement. All you need to do is give us 30 days’ notice.

Any deals in your pipeline go through to settlement and you are paid your full upfront commission.

The trail off your book is yours and you will continue to be paid (unless there has been some serious misconduct).

We do at least 2 commission runs each month – the first on about the 25th of the month and the second after the end of the month to pick up any commission paid by a lender late in the month.
